What 501(c)(10) means for the plan
- The organization must be domestic and operate under a lodge system.
- It must have a genuine fraternal purpose and active chapter-based life.
- Net earnings must be devoted exclusively to permitted religious, charitable, scientific, literary, educational, or fraternal purposes.
- It must not provide life, sick, accident, or other insurance-style member benefits.
Support must remain transparent.
Sponsorships, grants, donations, Academy contracts, and professional relationships require written policies, fair-market terms where applicable, conflict disclosures, board oversight, and clear separation between education and regulated advice.
